I love coming up to the mid and end of the year. This is because it allows me to think long and hard about what I could possibly expect from new casinos the year after. Right now, it is time to think about what new casino sites 2021 could possibly bring to the table.
I am going to admit that I really doubt that there are going to be many big changes in the world of new casino sites in 2018, at least technology-wise. The way in which services are offered may be shaken up a tiny bit, however.
Change in the Focus Of Games
I don’t know how well you keep ‘up to date’ with news from the UK Gambling Commission, but it seems that they want to change up the way in which games are promoted. Going into 2018, I think that that the colourful games with cartoon characters are not going to get that much of a focus on new casino sites.
They will be there, but the main pages of the casino will be dotted with more ‘realistic’ looking games. This is something that the UK Gambling Commission wants to happen. It is actually going to be a bit odd seeing this since online casinos seem to be very colourful at the moment, but I guess it is a change that is going to need to happen.
Shift Towards Mobile Gaming
This is something that we have seen happen a lot over the coming years. At the last check, I think about 50% of all money gambled was going through mobile devices. This number was climbing too, so I really do expect new casino sites to focus heavily on mobile devices.
I doubt there will be any casino games promoted which have not been coded in HTML5. This is because even if a single game on the new casino has been found not to work properly on mobile devices, the site visitor is going to go elsewhere.
I can’t imagine that there will be any new 100% mobile casino sites in 2018. It could probably happen, but I think the market for desktop users is still too large, so you do not want to cut them out completely. It is also tough to run a mobile-only website as you will need to have an app that your players can download and many people are very reluctant to download these apps when there are so many sites that do not require it.
I think I have found just a couple of sites which were successfully only offering to the mobile crowd, and this is only because those casino sites had managed to find a non-competitive niche for themselves. Their branding really worked for them.
New Deposit Options
Online casinos allowing Bitcoin was a ‘big event’ throughout all of 2019. I expect that this is going to continue throughout 2020 and 2021- more gambling sites will accept cryptocurrencies. However, I think more cryptocurrencies are going to be allowed. Just the popular and less-volatile ones, but we will certainly see a shift towards different deposit options, which is nice.
Yes, I know that many of you are never going to gamble with any currency other than the pound, but it is still nice to have that as an option, right? Plus, the more people that are coming in, the higher those progressive jackpots are going to be. This leads me onto the next point…
Bigger Promotion of Progressives
These generate a lot of money for online casinos. I would not be surprised to see more progressives take centre stage on new casino sites in 2021 . I don’t expect there to be any major new progressives to be launched as both Mega Fortune and Mega Moolah have that part of the market wrapped up. I don’t think any new casino sites will be majorly taking advantage of any local progressives either because the sites are going to be way too small for that.
Casino Bonuses
I hear that the bonuses that online uk casinos offer will change. Not drastically, just the way in which the bonus is offered (i.e. they can’t say ‘free’ for some reason). I expect that there is going to be a major shift away from welcome bonuses too. They will exist, but they are likely going to be a bit smaller than in the past. This is because most casinos have started to wake up to the fact that the real money is keeping people playing on the site. This means plenty of local bonuses to sink your teeth into!
